The colours of 2022 will be joyous and spritely, encouraging ‘courageous creativity and imaginative expressions’, if we pay any attention to the newly-announced Pantone Colour of the Year.
When selecting the colour that both reflects and influences fashion, design and interiors, experts at the Pantone Colour Institute (PCI) look at global trends, from the entertainment industry to fashion, socio-economic conditions to new technologies, materials, textures and social media.
PCI Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman says that ‘as we move through a changing world, the selection of PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri combines periwinkle blue with undertones of violet-red, to ‘bring a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue colour family, while the violet-red undertone suggests a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence’.
