One of the most commonly-used arguments against solar power is that it won’t work when the sun’s not shining. But scientists might have found a way to get around that problem, with shadow-generated power.
According to a report from science media site whatifshow, a new device called a ‘shadow-effect generator’ takes advantage of the contrast between light and shade to create an electric current. The receptor looks similar to solar panels, and would work best on cloudy days when it would receive both sunlight and shadow.
