And the winner is: Spinach Green!

Innovative use of colour was the overall winner in the 35th annual Dulux Colour Awards this year.

A bold choice of Spinach Green won both the Grand Prix Australia award as well as the Commercial/Multi-Residential Exterior category for design studio SJB’s project at 20-22 William Street in Beaconsfield, NSW.

The judges said that Spinach Green had the ‘perfect balance of richness’ to complement the leafy, vibrant tree canopies along the street frontage, while providing a ‘playfulness that speaks to the childcare centre within’.

The Award for Residential Interior Award went to Kennedy Nolan Australia, for their Erskine House Project.

Describing the entry, the judges said that ‘the palette, combined with an emphasis on textured materials, playful shapes and a disciplined, coordinated layering approach to furniture and lighting’ has resulted in a family house which is comfortable, light, connected to its garden, and a ‘sophisticated setting for playful grownups and serious children’.

Studio Prineas won The Single Residential Exterior award for their Bona Vista project, with its ‘artful use of colour and materiality to emanate the nostalgic memory of the original house’.
