Despite recent suggestions in the media to the contrary, the Reserve Bank of Australia continues to show no intention of moving on interest rates.
At its monthly review meeting this week, the bank board decided again to ‘maintain the cash rate target at 10 basis points’, repeating that it expects that wages growth will not be ‘materially higher than it is currently’ until at least 2024.
