Rainbows are traditionally associated with optimism, so why not ensure that we always have them around? This could almost be the thinking behind the Cocoon House, which has colourful skylights that reflect rainbows throughout its interior.
According to the designers of the Long Island home, the tints were inspired by Goethe’s theories on colour. “The colours range from vermilion red, which signals sunset and rest, above the master bedroom, to deep yellow, which signals zenith and activity, nearest the living room”, the team explained.
