After the last couple of years, it is unsurprising that a major trend in home décor is focussed on generating a greater sense of wellbeing.
The movement towards creating wellness oases at home was forefront amongst the winners of this year’s iF design awards, which included a forest-like sauna by Italian design house EFFE to a monolithic rain shower designed by Germany’s AXOR.
Reliving ancient practices of wellbeing, EFFE’s ‘yoku SH’ brings together a sauna, a turkish bath, and a shower in a spa. One of the two gold winners, the design features natural wood, a recessed glass wall and smoked bronze, creating a feeling of being in the middle of a forest.
Ever wanted to sit in a warm bath in front of the open fire, or on the verandah watching a storm move in over the sea? For the bathtub lovers out there, ‘tubble’ is perfection. Made by Dutch firm Tubble BV, the portable tub can be carried anywhere, at any time. Offering all the functionalities of a conventional bathtub, it can be set up in less than a minute and filled directly from any water source.
Combining a matte soft white heater with glossy metal accessories, the ‘veil wall mount heater’ from Kohler is a multi-layered product. With its sleek lines, intuitive control panel and concealed cord, the heater also offers foldable bars at the top which can turn into shelves, giving space to towel bars, hooks, fragrance diffusers and more.
