After so many months of La Niña weather, Australians are being warned that mosquitoes are causing havoc.
Apart from ensuring your home has screens on windows, doors, vents and other entrances, there are other ways to keep the critters at bay.
Most important is to prevent them breeding, so empty out any water-holding containers outside the house, including kids’ toys or the bases of pot plants, and change the water in pet drinking bowls, bird baths and vases at least once a week. Add to your arsenal by using fans to move the air, and burn citronella candles or infusers.
