Riparian rights apply to properties fronting a river. If the river is non-navigable, then the property holder owns the land under the water to the exact middle of the river. If the river is navigable, the property holder will most likely only own the land to the water’s edge.
If you own property on the waterfront check to make sure you know which rights apply to your property as they may affect your use of the water or the construction of structures such as jetties or boat ramps.
