Have you ever felt heartbroken when faced with having to throw away a favourite chair because it is damaged beyond use? São Paulo-based artist Tatiane Freitas has made an art form of resurrecting old chairs by replacing the missing parts with translucent acrylic.
The plastic fits precisely into place and mirrors its wooden counterparts, creating an effect that is both solid and ethereal. Miniature replicas of her furniture are currently featured this month in a New York exhibition named ‘A Hole Which Remains’.
