Where do the cool kids hang out? TimeOut magazine has published its 2023 list of the 40 coolest neighbourhoods in the world, and two Australian suburbs ranked in the top 20.
Brunswick East in Melbourne came in at 6th place, knocking aside more traditionally hip suburbs like Fitzroy and Carlton, while Sydney’s Enmore (in 17th spot) pushed out the perennially cool Newtown and last year’s favourite, Marrickville. The listing ranks places with a strong sense of community, where people are going out, having fun and enjoying good food and drink.
