The average price of a home in Australia is now $933,800, according to data released this week by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The latest figures show that the total value of residential dwellings in Australia in the December quarter 2023 was $10,397.1 billion, up $196.8 billion since the September quarter 2023. Values rose in all states and territories.
The total number of homes rose by 52,500 to 11,134,600, with the mean price up by $13,400 to $933,800, this quarter.
Around the country, the mean price of homes in NSW ($1,184,500) remains the highest in the country, followed by the ACT ($948,500), Victoria ($895,000), Queensland ($828,300), SA ($731,800), WA ($727,900), Tasmania ($653,800). The lowest mean price is in the Northern Territory ($489,200).
