As water levels – sea or river – become increasingly unpredictable through climate change, there will be a growing need for homes that can adapt, and with nearly half of the Mekong Delta area forecast to be submerged by rising water levels, an architectural firm in Vietnam has taken on the challenge.
Measuring around 36 square meters, the ‘Floating Bamboo House’ is built using a combination of bamboo stems, sheets, leaves and screens, with simple plastic drums to make it capable of floating on water.
