Does your lawn have perennially bare patches? Grow potatoes!
Planting potatoes thickly into bare earth then later digging to harvest them breaks down and cultivates the soil, a process which creates optimum conditions to start putting in a lawn. Plant seed potatoes, then cover them with a pile of damp newspaper and a few bags of mulch; after about three months the potatoes will be ready to dig up, and you’ll be left with a bed of incredibly rich soil and some delicious, fresh veggies.
