Many of us would like to have a ‘real’ Christmas tree, but they can be problematic to dispose of afterwards. Some will end up in the green bin, while potted plants might spend the following 11 months in a corner of the yard, in the hope they will be healthy for next season.
A British company has taken care of that, tending to trees then renting them back to their ‘owners’ again each Christmas. Since 2012, Rental Claus has been renting re-plantable trees to people who want to reduce waste and help provide habitat for wildlife between festivities. Once a tree reaches 7ft tall, it is retired by being replanted in the forest.
