If you’re looking for a home with history, a castle in Austria known as ‘Mozart’s Last Castle’, has been listed for €12 million (AUD$19.8m).
Since the 12th Century, Schloss Stuppach has hosted many illustrious guests, including Napoleon, Franz Schubert, Pope Pius VI, Princess Isabelle von Bourbon Parma and Emperor Franz Stephan von Lothringen. But possibly it’s biggest claim to fame is that Mozart wrote his famous Requiem there, to honour the deceased wife of the then-owner – it is now a world-class event centre used for music performances and lectures.
