IKEA chair recalled

An IKEA swivel chair has been recalled over fears it could collapse, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) warned this week.

The anthracite-coloured ODGER Swivel Chair is made of a wood plastic composite seat, aluminium tubing legs and rubber feet. The batch of affected chairs feature the date stamp 2221.

“22 stands for the year, and 21 stands for the week the product was produced,” the regulator said.

“The name and date stamp of the product can be found underneath the seat, moulded in the material of the chair.”

The only other identifying feature is the number sequence 703.952.63. No other ODGER products are affected by this recall.

The ACCC advises that consumers should immediately stop using the affected chairs and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund.
