A family in WA has strung together 420,000 lights in what could be one of Australia’s largest home Christmas displays, the ABC reported this week.
The interactive, walk-through display will not only raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis (inspired by the couple’s granddaughter who lives with the disorder), but is likely to also bring joy to both owners and visitors alike. According to Adelphi University Senior professor, psychologist Deborah Serani, people who put up decorations like Christmas lights create a neurological shift that can produce happiness.
“Christmas decorating will spike dopamine, a feel-good hormone,” Dr Serani told Today.com. So let’s all add some more lights to our festivities this year – and enjoy a video of the display on the ABC website.
