People hoping to escape rising rents in Ireland have been thrown a lifeline by Irish social enterprise Common Knowledge, in the form of sustainable tiny homes.
Each micro-home in the Tigín project boasts cork insulation, natural rubber flooring and external walls of corrugated hemp panels. Ready-made homes are currently available for purchase at €55,000, while Common Knowledge has also ‘empowered more than 120 people to build one themselves as part of our Build School programme’.
The group has released the design on open source, meaning that builders the world over will have access to it.
