Problem contained

Homeowners thinking of illegally removing trees to gain a view, beware! After several mature Banksia trees were cut down along the foreshore of Botany Bay, Bayside Council not only planted new trees, but has placed three shipping containers at the site to deter future vandalism.

A spokesperson said that the containers, which have since been covered with a mural, will stay in place to give the trees time to grow and become established. The mural depicts the increasingly rare yellow tail black cockatoo, which used to find food in the trees.
