With just over a week to Christmas, Australia’s streets are filled with homes brilliantly decorated with festoons of lights. Hopefully, a lot of those lights will be solar-powered LED globes.
According to energy provider Ausgrid, the cost of running 32 LED indoor star lights for 10 hours a night for the entire month of December will cost just 12 cents. 20 LED star garden lights only cost 20 cents, while 100 fairy lights will cost 50 cents and 250 icicle lights might set you back 60 cents over the month. Then again, solar-powered lights will cost no more than the initial output to buy them – and you don’t have to remember to turn them off.
